The new video trailer from SABATON to the song entitled as “Uprising” can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in Warsaw, Poland and is described as “a powerful and emotional tribute to those who lost their lives in the Warsaw uprising in 1944.” The video features an appearance by Swedish actor Peter Stormare (“Prison Break”, “8MM”, ‘Fargo’) as SS-Obergruppenführer von dem Bach and was directed by Jacek Raginis(who is related to decorated WWII hero Wladyslav Raginis).

The “Uprising” video will premiere on August 1, the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, in Poland and August 3 in the rest of the world viaMySpace.

On September 8th, KATATONIA will kick off the North American “The Night Over North America” tour – in Baltimore. Peaceville Records will release a special edition of their 2009 studio album, Night Is The New Day, in a hardback media book, with 20 page booklet, and bonus track: ‘Ashen’. Anneke Van Giersbergen (AGUA DE ANNIQUE, ex-THE GATHERING) will release a new live album, “Live In Europe”, on October 15.  Abou the release she says:

“The vast majority of the 12 songs were recorded during our spring 2010 tour in France and Spain. The touring band consisted of; Ruud Jolie (guitar), Jacques de Haard (bass) and Rob Snijders (drums). Yours truly sang, shook her booty and played piano and guitar. My front-of-house engineer Erik-Jan Dodd recorded and mixed the album. I’m really excited that the energy of a live show is captured well on this release!

There will be three brand new up-tempo songs on it: ‘Fury’, ‘Laugh It Out’ and a song called ‘Who I Am’. I wrote that one together with Devin Townsend while we were working on his ‘Addicted’ album. I’ve also re-recorded an old favorite of mine: ‘Shrink’. I wrote this song when I was 19 years old and I first recorded it for a demo I made in 1992. It ended up on THE GATHERING’s album ‘Nighttime Birds’ (1997) and now it’s revived on ‘Live in Europe’. It’s a song dear to my heart and I’m proud to share it with you in a new arrangement.

I had already chosen a picture for the album cover when Mehmet Turgut sent me a photo from a shoot I did with him in Turkey earlier this year. I fell in love with that shot instantly! Arda Aktas made a beautiful cover design.“

RHAPSODY OF FIRE will have the 35-Minute Symphony ”The Cold Embrace Of Fear – A Dark Romantic Symphony” released worldwide on October 15 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was released in Europe on April 30.

About the release guitarist Luca Turilli comments:

“For this special CD we composed a unique song of around 35 minutes divided in seven ‘acts.’ Looking at the title, you can easily imagine that such long and epic song will show the most cinematic and orchestral side of our band, all our passion for the world of cinema we love so much and that always represented our main influence while composing the RHAPSODY‘s music. Essentially it is a long huge song, sounding very symphonic, full of orchestral sections very soundtrack-oriented, narrations and spoken parts. More than in other cases we tried to create a real movie atmosphere with very dynamic musical results, also thanks to the help of the English actors that gave voice to different charachters. You will just need to close your eyes and explore those new emotional dimensions we wrote the music for.”

The lyrics of this monumental, epic symphony are based on the “dark secret saga” and represent a new chapter, directly connected to the band’s latest album, “The Frozen Tears Of Angels”.

Luca:

“After the long journey to the icy frozen northlands at the borders of the known world, while facing concrete natural obstacles and the inner demons lying in the depths of their conscience, the five main charachters reach the ancient gothic fortress of Har-Kuun, a real monument of evil trapped between ice and snow, the mystic place where the Erian’s book could be finally found. ”‘The Cold Embrace Of Fear’ tells about the entrance of those bravehearts in the ancestral world of Har-Kuun and the dramatic search for the holy book of the angels, only possible way to understand something more about the dark secret threatening the whole known world. Also in this case I liked to create particular ‘bridges’ connecting the new chapter of the saga with our modern life on the basis of symbolism, ancient wisdom and spiritual evolution. To someone who knows something about modern psychology and the study of the different ‘self,’ the hidden geometries and gothic labyrinths of Har-Kuun will reveal themselves very clearly.”

Once again, legendary actor Christopher Lee was chosen for the spoken parts as a main narrator.

Luca says:

“We couldn’t imagine to release something like this without his fundamental participation, Sir Lee is one member of the RHAPSODY OF FIRE’s family since a lot of time and we love him not only as an actor but also as man. Because of his great and majestic personality he has surely the aura of a king of the ancient times.”

After the news of reunion last year AUTOPSY have finally completed the recording of their brand new EP entitled “The Tomb Within”. The recordings happened mid-July 2010 at Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz.  “The Tomb Within” features the bands original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler plus Joe Trevisano (ex-ABSCESS) on bass.

“The Tomb Within” five tracks EP will be released on September 13 through Peaceville Records on CD and 12-inch vinyl, with general release set for September 27. Cover art is supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta. The 12-inch vinyl edition comes with a free poster of the cover artwork and is limited to 1,000 numbered copies. The CD edition comes with a special limited postcard for pre-orders.

Recently at SOS Metal Show we’ve spoken about ILL NIÑO. ROB ZOMBIE, who has been touring for the last few months promoting his latest album “Hellbilly Deluxe 2″, needed to replace drummer Tommy Clufetos  for SLIPKNOT‘s Joey Jordison becuase Tommy was invited to join OZZY‘s band. All apparently normal there. But the thing is that this is not the first time OZZY hires one of ZOMBIE‘s musicians out off his band. Back in 2006 bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson was also hired to join OSBOURNE‘s band.

Artisan News Service asked Zombie backstage at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival what he thought of Ozzy poaching important members of Rob‘s band.

“I think there’s ways to do things and I think there’s ways to not do things and I think the way they’ve chosen to do things is not how I would do things; I think it’s kind of rude. I mean, if my guys that I have wanna go play with other people, that’s fine; I don’t own them. But I think there’s ways to do things in a respectful way and there’s ways to just be shitty, and I feel that the way things have gone down lately has been pretty shitty. But whatever… What comes around goes around. But I’m just happy because every time I’ve lost somebody, I’ve gotten somebody ten times better, so I’m thankful for that. So if somebody’s band wants to be made up of my cast-offs, enjoy.”

Zombie told the Artisan News Service that it wasn’t the first time he’s said it, but he feels that the band he currently has is the closest one he’s been in.

“That’s totally true. I mean, I love these guys. I thought the drummer I had before [Tommy Clufetos] was a good guy, but you find out some people are just phony. But the greatest thing that ever happened was him hitting the road and Joey coming in and replacing him, ’cause it’s always great to replace somebody with a better drummer. But it’s not just that — it’s just the vibe and the person and everything about, really… I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. It was the perfect personality to come in and make the four of us work.”

Rhino rounded up a three-disc “Ultimate Edition,” a three-disc “Deluxe Edition,” and a two-disc “Expanded Edition“. All three editions include a newly remastered version of the original album along with unreleased and rare live performances from the “Cowboys From Hell” tour. The “Ultimate” and “Deluxe” editions will also feature a disc of unreleased demos for nearly every album track, plus, “The Will To Survive”, a previously unreleased song recorded during the album’s sessions.

The “Deluxe” and “Expanded” editions of “Cowboys From Hell” will be released September 14 at all retail outlets, including www.pantera.com and www.rhino.com . The “Deluxe Edition” will be available for a suggested list price of $29.98 (physical) and $17.99 (digital) and the “Expanded Edition” for $19.98 (physical) and $12.99 (digital).
