New Video Online From Shturm

Russian melodic death metallers Shturm have released a new music video for the track “Eagles Above Tibet“, taken from their new album Karmaruna, released on April 18th via Darknagar Records. You can now watch the video above.

The band commented: “The video’s full of symbols and ideas, so its sense may be not very clear for you – we’ll be happy to answer your questions! The video’s and song’s ideas are different at first sight. The song itself tells us about how compassionate may be human’s heart even after great ties of exile, wars and humiliation. It also tells us about how important is freedom for everyone of us all! The video consists of few scenes in which the wise Buddhist parables are shown. We suppose their sence may be quite urgent for many people today, so the video may appear interesting for you!”

Audio Interview With CHRIS GREEN From FURYON

Rustyn Rose of Metalholic.com recently conducted an interview with guitarist Chris Green of U.K. metallers FURYON. You can now listen to the chat above.

FURYON‘s debut album, “Gravitas“, was released on March 23 in Europe and March 27 in North America via Frontiers Records.

FURYON is a new band from the U.K. who like nothing more than to challenge expectations. Raised on a diet of heavy metal, prog, and classic rock, FURYON mix all these components for a truly unique and contemporary sound. Delivering huge rock-radio-friendly songs, with technically-challenging-yet-infectiously-catchy musicianship, they are dedicated to one sole purpose: making hard-hitting songs that will stand the test of time.

“Our music is good songs with touches of intelligence,” says singer Matt Mitchell, “There are a many different moods that come out from this album and all the songs have meaning and substance. Heavy and melodic! That is what FURYON and this album, ‘Gravitas‘, is about.”

What separates FURYON from the crowd is the sheer quality of their musicianship. Boasting two truly world-class guitarists in the form of Chris Green and Pat “The Shred” Heath, FURYON have few peers when it comes to the quality of their iconic riffs and jaw-dropping solos. Backing them up is one of the tightest rhythm sections the rock world has to offer, with the awesome combination of Lee Farmery and Alex “Nickel” Bowen. Leading from the front is the outstanding vocal versatility of Matt Mitchell, whose emotion drenched voice effortlessly moves between melodic and crunchingly heavy.

DOWN’s Performance Footage Of New Song From Pensacola

Fan-filmed video footage of DOWN performing a brand new song, “The Misfortune Teller“, on May 29 at the Vinyl Music Hall in Pensacola, Florida can be seen above. The entire concert is available at this location: http://tyronehood.tv/usa/down/pensacola/videos.html

DOWN entered the studio last October to begin recording the first in a series of four EPs, to be released over the next few years (with a year between EPs), each touching on a different aspect of the band’s sound.

The first six-song EP, which heralds the sound of DOWN going back to its roots, with influences from BLACK SABBATH, SAINT VITUS and WITCHFINDER GENERAL, will be released “late summer,” according to guitarist Kirk Windstein. “[It’s] kind of a throwback to what we were doing at the very beginning, on the ‘Nola’ record [DOWN‘s 1995 debut],” he said. “I think the fans are going to love it.”
