Chicago-based progressive metal hybrid BORN OF OSIRIS will enter the studio on March 22, 2013 with producer Nick Sampson (I AM ABOMINATION, IN FEAR AND FAITH, ADESTRIA) to begin recording its new album for a summer 2013 via Sumerian Records.
Mixing the CD will be Joey Sturgis, who has previously worked with ASKING ALEXANDRIA and EMMURE, among others.
Commented BORN OF OSIRIS guitarist Lee McKinney: “We’re very excited to work with [Nick] in the studio. He’s a shredder and aside from that a great engineer/producer.

On October 17, LACUNA COIL filmed a video for an as-yet-undisclosed song with Italian director Roberto Cinardi (a.k.a. Saku).
LACUNA COIL previously worked with Saku on the clips for the songs “Spellbound” and “I Won’t Tell You“, taken from the band’s 2009 album “Shallow Life“.

Los Angeles theatrical rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES will release their new album, “Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones“, on January 8 via Lava/Universal Republic.
The CD was produced by by John Feldmann (PAPA ROACH, THE USED, ATREYU) and is a full-fledged concept effort, though the band’s lead singer, Andy Biersack, has not revealed the exact narrative just yet.
“Lyrically, the most important thing for me is, how can I tell a cohesive story?” he told Revolver magazine. “How can I take the story and kind of weave it into songs that are written otherwise about a lot of personal experiences and the band’s experiences?”

“La Epidemia“, the new video from New Jersey/New York’s ILL NIÑO, can be seen above. The clip, which features a guest appearance by EMMURE frontman Frankie Palmeri, was filmed on September 29 at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“La Epidemia” comes off ILL NIÑO‘s new album, “Epidemia“, which will be released on October 22 via Victory Records.
The recording sessions for “Epidemia” took place in Hoboken, New Jersey; Austin, Texas; and Denver, Colorado.

SHINEDOWN took part in this past summer’s edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The third annual rock extravaganza — which boasts a main stage lineup that also includes GODSMACK and STAIND — got underway on August 17 at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas, and continues through September 30.

Los Angeles-based traditional metallers WHITE WIZZARD have set “The Devil’s Cut” as the title of their new album, tentatively due in the spring of 2013.
The band says, “It [will contain] eight songs to tear your heads off. [Bassist, songwriter and founding member] Jon [Leon] is perfecting lyrics and vocal melodies now after having written the best WHITE WIZZARD yet and Jake [Dreyer] and Will [Wallner] are writing masterful leads that are gonna blow your heads off.”

The mammoth 10-track CD was recorded at Perimeter Audio in Velsen-Noord, Netherlands with producer Marc van Duivenvoorde. The CD features cover art by Mattias Frisk.
