Full Metal Jackie conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine for Dean Guitars’ “Live From NAMM” webcast from this year’s NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, a massive music-products convention that took place January 24-27 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
MEGADETH‘s fourteenth studio album is being recorded with producer Johnny K (full name: John Karkazis), who has previously worked with DISTURBED, SEVENDUST, MACHINE HEAD and STAIND. The CD is being laid down at Mustaine’s Vic’s Garage studio in San Marcos, California.
Johnny K produced MEGADETH‘s last album, 2011’s “TH1RT3EN“, which was also recorded at Vic’s Garage.

UK heavy metallers Eden’s Curse are currently in the studio working on their as-yet-untitled, fourth album, which is scheduled for worldwide release via AFM Records in late summer 2013.
Drummer Pete Newdeck entered the studio in mid January and has now completed recordings on all fourteen tracks at Higher Studios in Tewkesbury, while guitarist Thorsten Koehne began guitar recordings this weekend at COP Studio in Bielefeld, Germany.

Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC have returned to Sweet Spot Studios in Halmstad, Sweden with producer Rickard Bengtsson (ARCH ENEMY, NEMESIS) to begin recording their seventh album for a June 2013 release.
CHTHONIC‘s sixth full-length effort, “Takasago Army“, was released in North America in September 2011 via Spinefarm Records.
Produced by Bengtsson, this 10-track outing completes a trilogy of CHTHONIC releases, telling a story that binds together the band’s “Seediq Bale” and “Mirror Of Retribution” albums, released in 2007 and 2009, respectively.

“Living And Drifting“, the new video from ALMAH — the Brazilian metal band led by former ANGRA singer Eduardo “Edu” Falaschi — will make its online debut on January 31 at 10 p.m. Brazilian time (February 1 at 1 a.m. CET).
The clip was filmed in Sao Paulo and directed by producer, musician and composer Diogo Araújo from Under Control Filmes, who is well known in Brazil for his work with more mainstream artists.
The video is based on a certain concept and is expected to be the most significant visual production in the history of the band.

The CD landed at position No. 65 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
