“In The Vault With Shanda Golden” (web site) recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson.
Ellefson‘s autobiography, “My Life With Deth“, was made available on October 29 via Howard Books. The memoir chronicles the story of Ellefson‘s fall into addiction during the band’s early years, followed by his subsequent recovery and the return to faith which championed the band’s rise to fame over the past several decades.
The book was written with Joel McIver, the bestselling author of 21 books on rock music, and features a foreword by Alice Cooper.
World rights to “My Life With Deth” were sold to Philis Boultinghouse at Howard Books by agent Lisa Gallagher at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates.

Pittsburgh Music Magazine recently conducted an interview with guitarist/vocalist Joseph Duplantier of French progressive metallers GOJIRA.
During a brand new interview with Loudwire, Duplantier spoke about GOJIRA‘s plans for 2014.
GOJIRA‘s fifth album, “L’Enfant Sauvage“, sold almost 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 34 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The band’s previous CD, “The Way Of All Flesh“, opened with 4,200 units back in 2008 to land at No. 138.
“L’Enfant Sauvage” entered the official chart in France at position No. 7 (No. 17 on the digital chart).
“L’Enfant Sauvage” features 11 tracks of mind-bending, thunderous metal. The CD was recorded at Spin Recording Studios in Long Island City, New York with co-producer Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD).

Mirai Kawashima and Dr. Mikannibal of SIGH conducted an interview with guitarist/vocalist Matthew Heafy when TRIVIUM played the Loud Park festival at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan at the end of October.
TRIVIUM‘s new album, “Vengeance Falls“, made Top 10 chart debuts in Japan, Australia, Germany and Austria as well as a Top 15 debut in Canada and a Top 25 debut in the United Kingdom.
This marks the acclaimed metallers second consecutive Top 15 debut in the U.S. and highest-career debuts around the globe — including a No. 2 debut in Japan.
“Vengeance Falls” sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The record — which was produced by David Draiman (DISTURBED, DEVICE) — arrived in stores on October 15 via Roadrunner.

On November 15, Social Alienation conducted an interview with bassist Doris Yeh of Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC in Paris, France.
CHTHONIC‘s seventh album, “Bú-Tik“, was released in North America via Spinefarm Records in the U.S. digitally on June 18 and on CD on June 25.
The effort was recorded at Sweden’s Sweetspot Studio by producer Rickard Bengtsson, who also worked on 2011’s critically lauded “Takasago Army” full-length.

Arne Luaith of Metal-Trails.com conducted an interview with guitarist Zoltan Bathory of Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH on November 12 in Hamburg, Germany.
The second volume of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH‘s two-record set, “The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell“, sold 77,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart.
The first volume, which came out in July, also debuted in the same position, although it sold a more substantial 113,000 copies. Now that they’ve got a double-record set under their belts, The Pulse Of Radio asked FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody what other goals the band would like to achieve in the future.

Kriss Panic of Dogday Production conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor at this year’s Metaltown festival, which was held July 4-6 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
SLIPKNOT announced on December 12 that it had parted ways with drummer Joey Jordison, one of the band’s founding members and key songwriters.
The group posted a statement at its web site which read, “It is with great pain but quiet respect that, for personal reasons, Joey Jordison and SLIPKNOT are parting ways. We all wish Joey the best in whatever his future holds. We understand that many of you will want to know how and why this has come to be, and we will do our best to respond to these questions in the near future.”
