MESHUGGAH To Release ‘The Ophidian Trek’ DVD And Blu-Ray

Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the recording of their first EP, Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH will release a concert DVD / 2CD set and Blu-ray, “The Ophidian Trek“, this fall via Nuclear Blast.


With visual footage shot in the U.S. and Europe during “The Ophidian Trek” tour and festival footage from Wacken Open Air 2013 in Germany, the live audio was processed and edited by MESHUGGAH guitarist Fredrik Thordendal, mixed by Daniel Begstrand (DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH) and mastered by Mats “Limpan” Lindfors (ROXETTE, OPETH, MANDO DIAO).

SIXX: A.M. To Release ‘Modern Vintage’ Album In October

SIXX: A.M., the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, will release its third album, “Modern Vintage“, on October 7. The CD’s first single, “Gotta Get It Right“, will hit iTunes and radio on August 5.

GUS G. Releases ‘Blame It On Me’ Video

Blame It On Me“, the new video from Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne‘s guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND, can be seen above.

The song is taken from Gus’ debut solo album, “I Am The Fire“, which entered the official chart in Greece at position No. 27.

The CD sold around 700 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

Gus and LYNAM will team up for a string of West Coast dates in October. The shows kick off October 15 in Los Angeles at the world-famous Whisky a Go Go and mark Gus‘ first solo appearances in North America.

‘Blood In, Blood Out’ Release Date Confirmed

San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS will release their new album, “Blood In, Blood Out“, on October 14 via Nuclear Blast.


The album art was illustrated by Swedish artist Pär Olofsson, known worldwide for his incredible renderings that have graced the covers of countless heavy metal albums, including EXODUS‘ “Let There Be Blood“.

Blood In, Blood Out” will be EXODUS‘ first since the departure of the band’s lead singer of the past nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of his predecessor, Steve “Zetro” Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

FLYLEAF’s ‘Set Me On Fire’ Video Premiere

Set Me On Fire“, the new video from the alternative, hard rock band FLYLEAF, can be seen above.

The clip was shot with director Noel Maitland (SPEECHLESS, KINGS OF SUMMER) in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Los Angeles.

The explosive track marks the first single off the group’s fourth studio album, “Between The Stars“, which is set for release on September 16 via Loud & Proud Records.

Ministry Offer Free Download Of ‘Permawar’ Remix

Industrial metallers Ministry have recently launched the Ministry Mondays series where they offer weekly free downloads.

Each Monday the band will post a song from their From Beer To Eternity remix album in the same order as on the album. Following that, they will also continue the series with remixes of material from their Relapse album.

HALESTORM’s Performance Clip Of Previously Unreleased Song Co-Written By WEEZER’s RIVERS CUOMO

As a “thank you” to the band’s fans for pushing them past one million “likes” on Facebook, Pennsylvanian rockers HALESTORM — who are now based in Nashville, Tennessee — have posted a video performance of the previously unreleased song “Sweet Love“.

The track, which was first performed by HALESTORM‘s Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger on July 26 as part of their acoustic show at The Basement in Nashville, Tennessee, was written in 2011 with WEEZER frontman Rivers Cuomo during the sessions for HALESTORM‘s “The Strange Case Of…” album.

Scar Symmetry Reveal New Album Release Dates

At the beginning of the year, Scar Symmetry announced the concept of their upcoming trilogy of albums.

At the time, the melodic death metal band shared what we now know will be the album cover for the first part of the trilogy.

The Swedes are set to release their new album and successor to 2011’s The Unseen Empire this fall.

The new creation called The Singularity (Phase 1 – Neohumanity) will be out on October 3rd (Europe), October 6th (UK & France) and October 14th (US) 2014 via Nuclear Blast.

Caliber TV conducted an interview with vocalist Hernan “Eddie” Hermida of California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE at a recent stop of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

SUICIDE SILENCE‘s new album, “You Can’t Stop Me“, sold around 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band’s previous album, “The Black Crown“, opened with 14,400 units back in July 2010 to land at No. 28.
