BATTLECROSS’ “Rise To Power”

Michigan thrashers BATTLECROSS will release their new album, “Rise To Power“, on August 21 via Metal Blade Records.

A brand new BATTLECROSS song, “Not Your Slave“, can be streamed above. Guitarist Tony Asta states: “We’re really happy with the crushing feel of this song. Somehow through the writing process, maybe even on accident, a more groovy feel was created. We won’t write the same record twice and I think this is our strongest and more dynamic album yet.”

BATTLECROSS will join CROWBAR and LORD DYING on “The Summer Of Doom” tour, with the devastation beginning May 28 and ending July 3 in CROWBAR‘s home state of Louisiana.

On tour, fans can pre-order “Rise To Power” at the BATTLECROSS merch booth in the form of a limited-edition tour laminate. Each laminate will include a code, redeemable online, for a copy of the album.

Vintersorg Is Recovering From Surgery

Borknagar‘s vocalist Vintersorg is recovering from surgery. He underwent an ear surgery recently.

As you might recall, Vintersorg was injured last year in a fall resulting in fractures to the skull, brain hemorrhage, and a momentary dysfunctional hearing on one ear.

Hopefully, he will be able to recover from this. It’s still early to tell at this point.

The band has been working on a new album and original vocalist Kristoffer “Garm” Rygg (Ulver) will guest on two tracks of Borknagar‘s upcoming album.

SKID ROW Performs With New Singer TONY HARNELL

The new SKID ROW lineup — featuring former TNT singer Tony Harnell — made its live debut this past Friday, May 22 at Living Sky Casino in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Fan-filmed video footage of the second show of the tour — which took place Saturday night (May 23) at Dakota Dunes Casino in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada — can be seen above.

In a recent interview with Canadian rock journalist Mitch Lafon of the “One On One With Mitch Lafon” podcast, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan stated about the band’s split with singer Johnny Solinger after fifteen years: “It was evident [that it was time for us to go our separate ways]. There were certain things going on out on the road that kind of set us thinking… Things had been going on for a little bit.”

IN THIS MOMENT’s MARIA BRINK Joins PAPA ROACH On Stage At ROCKLAHOMA

IN THIS MOMENT‘s Maria Brink joined PAPA ROACH on stage once again on May 22 at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma to recreate her duet with Jacoby Shaddix on the new PAPA ROACH single, “Gravity“.

PAPA ROACH recently released an official video for the song, which appears on the group’s latest album, “F.E.A.R.

Shaddix said about the inspiration for “Gravity“: “‘Gravity‘ is my testament to show other couples who may be going through a damaged relationship that they really can get through it. My wife is my gravity… straight up.” He added in a separate interview with Loudwire: “I always want to put myself out there in the music and this song just more so than really ever. It doesn’t really necessary paint me in the best picture as far as the cliché rock guy gives himself to the rock and roll excesses story. But we went through that in our relationship. I failed as a husband, as a father, as a lover, as a friend to her and I just wanted to write a song about that brokenness and how somehow she sees something in me that I didn’t see in myself at times. She loved me when I couldn’t love myself.”
