RAMzine conducted an interview with ALL THAT REMAINS vocalist Phil Labonte and guitarist Mike Martin at the 2015 edition of the U.K.’s Download festival, which was held last weekend in Donington Park.

Asked what the fan reaction has been like to ALL THAT REMAINS‘s latest album, “The Order Of Things“, Labonte said: “Great! For us, the record is… I feel like it’s, kind of, like, the record that we should be doing. I think it felt like a really good mix of heavier songs and not-heavy songs, and I felt like the songs that… Even the songs that were faster and more ‘metally,’ musically, still had cool singing parts and screaming parts, so I was really, really happy.”

According to Phil, he would have no problem writing an all-out aggressive album if the situation called for it. “Personally, there’s plenty of stuff to be pissed off about,” he said. “I generally try not to focus on it all the time, but if I was, like, ‘All right. I’m pissed off about something and I wanna write a record that’s just tearing everything apart,’ oh, I can definitely do that. Me and him [referring to Mike]? We can come up with some hate. The new record, a lot of the lyrics have a lot of sarcasm in it. I’m not so angry…”

ALL THAT REMAINS is continuing to tour in support of “The Order Of Things“, which was released on February 24 via Razor & Tie. The CD follows up the group’s 2012 effort, “A War You Cannot Win“, which featured the massive rock singles “What If I Was Nothing” and the chart-topping “Stand Up“.
