“We Wanna Keep Trying To Do This For As Long As We Can”

Toazted conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT DJ Sid Wilson during the band’s current European summer festival tour.

Speaking about the fact that SLIPKNOT hit a somewhat turbulent patch after the release of 2008’s “All Hope Is Gone” album and the steps the band has taken to stop some of those things from recurring, Sid said: “I don’t know if I can make sure of stopping anything from happening ever again, ’cause, I mean, there’s so many variables involved with any kind of equation, you know what I mean?! You can only be one part of the equation and do your job as that part of the equation. So, like, if I’m not… It’s always my job to be ‘0’ in the equation. How someone else ends up equating out of, for me being part of that equation, is entirely up to them, basically. But I will say that we’ve definitely grown a lot. We’ve definitely been able to take steps to prevent from anything happening to us — at least as much as we can. There’s always things that are out of your control. But we’ve definitely gotten to a point where the people involved are all on the same page and we all agree that we wanna keep trying to do this for as long as we can. So there’s certain things that we have to put in place and certain things we have to do to enable us to do this.”

SLIPKNOT‘s latest album, “.5: The Gray Chapter“, was released in October 2014 following a six-year hiatus during which the band’s founding bassist Paul Gray died and original drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed.
