SOUNDGARDEN frontman Chris Cornell‘s cover version of Lorraine Ellison‘s 1966 soul song “Stay With Me Baby” can be streamed above.
The track is taken from the soundtrack for HBO‘s “Vinyl” series, which combines previously released tracks with a handful of songs that were previously unavailable.
“Vinyl: Music From The HBO Original Series – The Essentials: Best of Season 1” is being released today (Friday, April 15) on Atlantic/Warner Bros.
“Vinyl” is the Martin Scorsese– and Mick Jagger-produced HBO drama that stars Bobby Cannavale as troubled record-label executive Richie Finestra. The series concludes its first season on Sunday, April 17.
“Higher Truth” was released on September 18, 2015. Cornell‘s first album on his own since 2009’s controversial “Scream” is in the singer-songwriter vein and very different from his work with SOUNDGARDEN.
