L’Homme Absurde to release “Sleepless” on March 26th via Soundage Productions!

Russian post-metallers L’Homme Absurde have completed work for their sophomore album “Sleepless”, which can be considered as a logical follow-up to the band’s creativity, the working formula of “Monsters” (2016), but with more influences from hardcore/metalcore music. “Sleepless” is set to be released on March 26th via russian label Soundage Productions.

L’Homme Absurde was started by A., a russian musician formerly known as the drummer for a series of Moscow doom metal bands (Mare Infinitum, Comatose Vigil, Who Dies In Siberian Slush) and
as a mastermind of doom/downtempo band A Young Man’s Funeral. In 2016 the band joined with other members and released their first self-titled demo. That same year L’Homme Absurde recorded their first full-length album entitled “Monsters”, which was released by russian label Fono ltd.

“An aesthetically blended video of darkness and light, “Black Mamba” cries out to be recognized in the realm of semi-melodic thrash metal as Drifter efficaciously takes the course less chosen to create a stir among rock, metal, and general music fans across the spectrum. Drifter’s crisp rhythms are held tightly together by drummer Mark Kairelshtein and bassist Filip Halajko are complimented by the boisterous, dual-leads from guitarists Jon Plunkett and Joe Derogatis. Sealing the band together, vocalist Mike Monto contributes his own flare to the seasoned genre.

After running through several line-up changes throughout the years, Drifter’s grown to final form. Ready to hit the road, take over stages, and shred ‘til they’re dead, the band plans to play the final Warped Tour along with other headline dates throughout the summer, promoting The Howling.

VEXES – New Album Out Now!

Groove-infused experimental rock/metal outfit VEXES have just released their debut album, Ancient Geometry! The album is available via iTunesAmazonGoogle Play, and Bandcamp, and in physical format via Big Cartel with other merch options here. You can also stream tracks via Spotify here.

While online, fans can stream a guitar playthrough video for “Helion” here, and watch the new music video for “Decision Are Death Here” here.

“…an absolutely thrilling debut album… “Ancient Geometry” captures various moods and a dynamic range of instrumentals that keep things fresh from track-to-track… this record is packed with hooks and is catchier than it has any right to be… it’s too early to begin speculation for our Album of the Year proceedings, but Vexes makes a solid case for longevity with “Ancient Geometry”.”

– Heavy Blog is Heavy

“Whereas ALOL pummeled with groove and brute force, Vexes take a more subtle approach, exploring the more nuanced side of groove with post-metal atmospherics and an alt-metal sense of melody.”

– MetalSucks

“…sure as hell catchy… the underlying heaviness really takes things to another level.”

– Metal Injection

“Fans of A Life Once Lost and Fury of Five already know that those bands are masters of groove-laden heavy music, and clearly they also know how to reinvent that element of their sound… “Ancient Geometry” follows in the footsteps of bands like Isis, Deftones, Thrice, Pelican and Cave In but finds its own sound along the way.”

– Decibel

“Fans of Deftones, the Ocean, and the Contortionist won’t want to miss out on this one…”

– Revolver

“This is a sublime serving of post-metal… new, energizing and exciting.”

– It Djents

New Jersey-based VEXES – featuring frontman Charlie Berezansky (ex-Downstageand Vessl), guitarist John Klagholz (ex-Fury of Five and Vessl), drummer Justin Graves (ex-A Life Once Lost), and bassist Bobby Carpenter (ex-A Life Once Lost) – came together after Klagholz and Berezansky’s previous band, Vessl, called it quits. The two were interested in starting a heavier project to filter some different ideas into. After finally completing their demos, they sent them to a few respected musician contacts of theirs, and within a few weeks, heard back from drummer Justin Graves. Graves was impressed with the tracks and hinted at wanting to join the band. Soon after, they recruited Bobby Carpenter to play bass.

Ancient Geometry was engineered and mixed by frontman Charlie Berezansky at Skywire Sound Studios in West Creek, NJ, and mastered by Mike Kalajian (The Dear Hunter, Saosin, Emmure) at Rogue Planet Mastering. Combining gripping alt-metal atmosphere and experimental post-rock inspiration with a healthy dose of post-hardcore undertones, VEXES breathe new life into this genre set to deliver something fresh and instantly absorbing.
