INCITE Reveals New Music Video for Aggressive Anthem “Built to Destroy”!

Heavy metal frontrunners INCITE – lead by frontman Richie Cavalera – are set to release their upcoming fifth full-length album, Built To Destroy, on January 25, 2019 via Minus Head Records. Produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence) and mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed), Built to Destroy is a visceral, urgent, voracious distillation of modern metal with reverence for the past, and boasts a progressed, matured sound for INCITE.

INCITE are thrilled to reveal a brand new Tommy Jones-directed music video for the new album’s aggressive, no-frills title track, “Built to Destroy”. The track wastes no time delivering its unrelenting attack, eventually leading into a searing guitar solo and leaving the listener with no question as to where the name INCITE comes from.

Frontman Richie Cavalera says, “We’re ready for all the metalheads to hear and see this new video! We wanted to do something that was dark and full of energy with lots of heaviness, and really keep it all about the music. Are you Built to Destroy?”

Built to Destroy is available for pre-order now via BandcampiTunes and Amazon.

European metal fans, make sure to catch INCITE on the road now with Six Feet Under – visiting Germany and the Czech Republic! All dates are listed here:https://minushead.com/bands/incite/

Nearly 15 years into a career in which everything they’ve accomplished was earned and nothing was taken for granted, Built To Destroy lands as a jaw-dropping showcase for INCITE. Frontman and band founder Richie Cavalera delivers stark examinations of a shattered psyche, through guttural snarls, with vivid dynamics and power. There’s a harmonious discordance with the near-deathcore pummel of fluid bassist “EL” and powerhouse drum basher Lennon Lopez, who both worship at the altar of groove. Peppering the album with more solos than ever before, guitarist and principal songwriter Dru Rome truly shines. Rome’s lead guitar work recalls the glory of Arise-era Sepultura, harnessing a stadium-worthy energy, drawing upon his dual experience as a trained violinist. Both Kirk Windstein (Crowbar) and Chris Barnes (Six Feet Under) guest on the album.

With certified bangers like “Ruthless Ways,” “Resistance,” and the album’s title track,Built To Destroy joins an impressive and steadily growing catalog of albums –Oppression (2016), Up in Hell (2014), All Out War (2012), and The Slaughter (2009) – all of which have produced a number of songs now near-and-dear to the INCITE faithful.

As renegade disciples of trailblazing metal architects like PanteraSlayerSepultura, and Machine HeadINCITE raise the torch for trend-killing and hipster-smashing metal. INCITE maintain their dedication to realism and brutal gimmick-free music with Built To Destroy.

HECATE ENTHRONED – release new album ‘Embrace Of The Godless Aeon’ on January!

The UK-based blackened death metal group HECATE ENTHRONED will release “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon,” their first album in five years (and their debut for new label M-Theory Audio), on January 25, 2019. The album – which features cover artwork by Nestor Avalos (BloodbathRotting ChristThe Black Dahlia Murder), as seen above – can be pre-ordered now on CD and red splatter vinyl at this location (www.m-theoryaudio.com/store). A limited-edition deluxe box set that includes exclusive purple vinyl and cassette editions of the album, a signed photo card and other collectibles is also available.

One of the UK underground’s longest-running and most respected acts, HECATE ENTHRONED has been praised by the likes of Terrorizer for their “mixture of death metal aggression with black metal atmosphere.” “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon”– their first recording with vocalist Joe Stamps, who joined the band in 2015 – sees the group continue to deftly mix black with death, modern with classic and extreme with symphonic. The album, which features guest vocals on three songs by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle of FilthTherionMortiis), was co-produced by Dan Abela(VoicesThe Antichrist Imperium).

Says bassist Dylan Hughes, “This album with its epic sweeping orchestration and heavy aggression represents a new chapter for us cementing the chemistry of the current lineup and our partnership with M-Theory. A welcome return from Sarah Jezebel Deva hints to the grandiose flavor of earlier releases, but this time, it’s tempered with a guitar and drum sound forged from solid steel and then edged by a razor-sharp production from Dan Abela. The summoning of unholy flame and terror that is the cover art is an oil painting commissioned from in-demand satanic artist Nestor Avalos and begins your visceral journey through cold bleak landscapes, crushing tormented seas and searing shards of heavy metal.”

Originally co-founded in Wales by guitarist Nigel Dennen in the mid-1990s, HECATE ENTHRONED is dedicated to delivering their own brand of evil metal with little regard to politics or the trends of popular demand. The group’s 1997 debut, the Andy Sneap-produced “The Slaughter Of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty”(Blackend Records), was a seminal release in the then-burgeoning orchestral black metal movement. Since then, several full-lengths and EPs and numerous live performances have firmly established the band as one of extreme metal’s most important voices, a sentiment that “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon” firmly reinforces.

HECATE ENTHRONED‘s next live show will take place in Belgium on December 14th with Altar at De Verlichte Geest in Roeselare. The group plans to tour extensively throughout 2019.

Altitudes & Attitude – David Ellefson (Megadeth) & Frank Bello (Anthrax) Stream New Song LATE, Album Available For Pre-Order!

Altitudes & Attitude, acollaboration between Anthrax’s Frank Bello and Megadeth’s David Ellefson -two virtuosicbass players who’ve anchored some of the fiercest thrash records of all time –will release its debut album Get It Out on January 18 via Megaforce Records.  Atestament to the expressive strength of rock songcraft, Get ItOut reaches far beyond the boundaries of an all-star metal outing.

Hear their new song “Late” here and on allstreaming services.
Get It Out is available for pre-order here.

A kind of rock ‘n’ roll primal-scream therapy, Get It Out is the result of nearly four years of writing and recording sessions—and decades of touring, searching, striving and living. “I’ve learned that writing songs is very cathartic,” says Bello, who has long made songwriting a daily practice.  When Anthrax is off the road, he tries out new material at open mics around New York City.  “A lot of these lyrics are about the inner struggles of my life, and about the rage that has built up from my life experiences—my brother’s murder; my father abandoning my family when we were young, leaving us with no funds to pay the bills. … The ups and downs of life in general. I’ve always had an anger inside that music really helps me deal with.”

“The album has the perfect title,” Ellefson adds. “This is music that has been living inside of us for so long.  There’s a big musical part of each of us that doesn’t get heard anywhere else.”

Boasting producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour, Steel Panther), drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, Devo, Filter) and a deep bench of guest stars including Ace Frehley (the track “Late”) and Gus G., the record also represents the fulfillment of a lifelong but little-known ambition for two uniquely gifted artists. As Bello puts it, “All I ever wanted to do was write good songs. I’ve always been a melody guy. I love hooks; I love catchy songs with a good riff.”

The Altitudes & Attitude story begins in 2010, when Bello and Ellefson started touring together to lead bass clinics for the amp manufacturer Hartke. In need of backing tracks to support their demonstrations, they embarked upon some writing sessions and discovered their chemistry.

Bello and Ellefson debuted Altitudes & Attitude in early 2014, with a self-titled three-song EP that earned the duo airplay on SiriusXM and an appearance on VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show. Those tracks—“Booze and Cigarettes,” “Tell the World,” “Here Again”—are included on Get It Out as bonus cuts, in remixed and remastered form.

Ellefson explains that “A&A could have only happened at this moment in time”—when the titans of thrash metal’s Big Four are older, wiser, kinder and more open creatively. “When you’re still climbing up the hill,” he says, “there’s no room for friendly competition. But once you’ve been to the top of the hill and you’ve seen the view—which all of the Big Four have—it’s OK to break bread, hang out, have a drink.” Or, in the case of Altitudes & Attitude, delve into hard-rock songwriting in a profound way. “To hear other sides of us as artists—not just as musicians and performers, but as artists.”

Black/Doom/Punk Duo MANTAR Release Teaser for New Track “Seek + Forget”!

Monstrous black/doom/punk chimera MANTAR have released a teaser video for another brand new track off of their new album, The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze, set to be unleashed August 24, 2018 via Nuclear Blast.

The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze (as well as accompanying merchandise) is now available for pre-order in various formats: http://nblast.de/MantarAblaze

Hailing from Northern Germany, MANTAR have achieved more in five years than most bands twice their age and size. The product of a twenty-year friendship between guitarist/vocalist Hanno Klaenhardt and drummer Erinc Sakarya, theirs is a success story born entirely of one thing: hard work, with three albums, an EP and a live release already to their name. Releasing their 2014 Svart Records debut Death By Burning, an uncompromising clash of stripped-back punk attitude and metal intensity to instant critical acclaim, the band toured relentlessly, gracing stages the world over, including the hallowed likes of Roadburn (NL), Wacken Open Air (D) and Maryland Deathfest (US). They used 2016’s Ode To The Flame, their Nuclear Blast Records debut, to further build upon their incendiary live reputation, conquering not only Europe and the US, but Russia, Japan and South Africa.

The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze is a title in-keeping with MANTAR‘s symbolic obsession with fire on albums previous; this time disavowing mankind’s tendency to blindly follow those that would lead us into oblivion. This isn’t necessarily a political statement; more a morbid fascination with current smoldering tensions that threaten to set the minds of the masses on fire.

Evilon Sign With Wormholedeath and Announce “Leviathan” Album Release Date!

Swedish Melodic Folk-Death Metal act Evilon are pleased to announce that they have signed with WormHoleDeath for the release of their debut album “Leviathan”.
“Leviathan” will be out on 28 September 2018 via Wormholedeath / Aural Music Group / The Orchard.

The band was created in 2015 by Kenneth Evstrand and Jonny Sjödin. In the beginning the musicstyle was Melodic Death Metal in the style of At The Gates, Amon Amarth and In Flames among others. During 2016 the music evolved and is now inspired by Celtic and Nordic folkmusic with alot of heavy riffs and capturing melodies. We found our bassplayer and our lead/growler early on, it then took some time before the band was complete but in August 2016 we finally found a drummer that met our requirements and we could really start our journey. During the winter of 2016 Evilon recorded its first EP called “Shores Of Evilon”. It contains five songs written in 2016. The EP was recorded independently by Evilon and it was mixed and mastered by Big Balls Productions. It was then released in January 2017 on Spotify, Itunes, Google Play, Youtube and Soundcloud. In June 2017, the recordings for a full length album began. Now, one year later it’s finished and the name is “Leviathan”. The album contains ten new songs, full of great melodies, awesome vocals and heavy riffs! In February 2018 we signed a worldwide distribution contract with the Italian recordlabel Wormholedeath Records for the release of the album Leviathan. The album will be released the 28th of September in Europe, USA and Japan.

DRAWN AND QUARTERED: Metal Injection Streaming The Opening Track “Nefarious Rites”; Album “The One Who Lurks” Gets Nearer To The Release Date!

Long-serving Seattle based death metal group DRAWN AND QUARTERED are only a week away from the release date of their seventh opus “The One Who Lurks”. Prior to launching the album publicly in its full, the band reveals the opening track “Nefarious Rites” as the third single from this album.

The Band Comments: “An assortment of old and rotten riffs lurching and writhing. Corpse-grinding rhythms and heinous voices burst forth from decrepit graves. The words are spoken and the earth vomits death. Ave Sathanas.”

“….. it’s exactly as morbid, crusty, and downright disgusting as you’d hope it would be”  Greg Kennelty (Metal Injection)

DRAWN AND QUARTERED initially began life under the moniker of Plague Bearer (which is currently a side project of the guitarist Kelly) in 1992. A year after the creation, Plague Bearer started to breath fire under the formidable name Drawn and Quartered. It will be injudicious to play down their prolific career — consisting six acclaimed full lengths and numerous EPs and demos — by only considering the absence of wide-ranging recognition of their niche musical landscape.

Balefully titled upcoming opus “The One Who Lurks” sees no discernible turnaround in the already established signature sound. However, it surely sees the long serving death metal trio to vengefully and ravenously hone the level of ferocity and profanity in an unadulterated way. The eight tracks, containing maelstrom of bizarre riffs, repulsive vocals, and cavernous drumming, individually act as an entryway to unfurl the lurking terror that is maliciously aiming to flay its victim alive.

Drawn and Quartered is confirmed to perform at this year’s Asakusa Deathfest, Japan. They will also perform in other local and international gigs to support the forthcoming album.

Gabriel T Byrne has executed The hideous artwork of this album. The Tucson, Arizona based artist has limned the cover of every Drawn and Quartered full lengths. The label owner Loic F. (Autokrator, N.K.V.D.) has undertaken the duty of the layout, mixing, mastering and the production.

PHILM, CIVIL DEFIANCE mainman GERRY PAUL NESTLER announces ‘Mama’s Child’ solo album!

Los AngelesCA based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist GERRY PAUL NESTLER has announced the release of his debut solo album,“Mama’s Child”.  The album is scheduled for a September 12 release and will be celebrated with a Nestler live appearance at The Redwood Bar in Downtown L.A. that same day.  A lyric video for the song “Koko My Love”, featuring vintage photographs taken around Los Angeles during the early 1950s by Nestler’s artist father, Frank Nestler, can be viewed below:

First coming to prominence with Southern California avantgarde thrashers CIVIL DEFIANCE, who cultivated a strong cult following in Europe with a pair of critically acclaimed releases in the 1990s, followed by albums with KKLEQ MUZZILSUPER RIDER and PHILM, featuring former SLAYER drummer, Dave LombardoNestler has long been one of the most unique and daring musicians in progressive circles.  Dialing down the loud in favor of a more introspective, acoustic based approach, “Mama’s Child” marks the latest addition to Nestler’s eclectic body of work.  “When I went into the studio to start work on the album in the spring of 2016, I was interested in recording an album for the songs I had been writing on the piano”, reveals Nestler. “The songs reflected the sounds I was hearing from playing and listening to recordings of the early 1900’s, some popular, others more obscure, on through the late 1960’s and into the early 70’s.”

Assembling the album over the course of several months in Los Angeles and New York, Nestler recruited a formidable supporting cast of players, including bassist Pancho Tomaselli (PHILMWAR), drummer Max MacVeety, and long-time Mike Keneally affiliate, saxophonist/flutist Evan Francis, aided by engineer/producer Chris Sorem at NEST Recorders in East Los Angeles where most of the tracking was done.

“I had met Max (MacVeety) at a PHILM show in L.A..  I asked him if he would be interested in playing drums on an album I was putting together.  He was intrigued when I mentioned that the music I was working on had me on the piano instead of the electric guitar and how I had been influenced by Roberta Flack‘s work with drummer Ray Lucas.  Max recommended a studio in East L.A., NEST Recorders, which turned out to be the perfect place as it had a 1910 Steinway piano and an echo chamber.  We laid down the initial tracks with Chris (Sorem).  Not long after that I left for New York where Evan(Francis) tracked in the woodwinds at Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn with Michael Coleman at the helm.  There was also a short visit to Springfield,Massachusetts where Jim Messbauer added some trombone to the tracks.  A few months later it was back to LA to finish up and mix with Chris.”

Steeped in ever changing shades of jazz and blues, and conjuring vibes akin to Tom Waits and THE BEATLES’ more experimental moments, “Mama’s Child” is the type of bold musical curveball most artists dare not throw these days.  “I never looked at “Mama’s Child” as being a gamble though, just stretching my head, I guess”, reflects Nestler.  “I don’t know if this will be the last of its kind for me or the first of more to come.  Above all, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to bring forth something, understanding that overvaluation and undervaluation are inevitable results in the business of art. The creative urge continues not to feel the bliss of generation, but a higher ordinance under a compulsion to ceaselessly work. Part of that work for me is to learn to change and grow, but more importantly, the ability to create something that pays homage to those hidden areas of the mind that carry beauty and light.”

  1. Koko My Love
  2. Rain On The Window

Described as…”a delightfully brutal and disgusting sonic assault” by KERRANG!,BROKEN HOPE released their seventh full length studio album Mutilated and Assimilated last via Century Media Records (Sony).

Produced by Scott Creekmore and cover artwork created by Wes Benscoter; Mutilated and Assimilated is available now in the following formats: Special Edition CD+DVD Digipack and digital & streaming versions available via all major outlets worldwide.

Order Mutilated and Assimilated at: http://smarturl.it/MutilatedAssimilated

“Broken Hope are back in the saddle…composed highlights such as the bestial ‘The Bunker’, the dynamic groove pendulum ‘Outback Incest Clan’, the dissonant, ‘Russian Sleep Experiment’ or the ‘The Necropants’ convey brutal energy in a powerful sound. Chicago’s Death veterans are an interesting bridge to their 1991 debut, ending a solid inferno hit factor.” – METAL HAMMER (DE/Germany)

“The title track references the horror classic The Thing, and that sort of Lovecraftian body horror is at the center of why Broken Hope’s horror metal works so well: they understand that a good monster needs to be scary, but it also needs nuance and times when you can catch your breath and ponder your futile existence. Mutilated and Assimilated nails that aesthetic, as the band’s shape-shifting death melodic brutal death is a (horrifying) beauty to behold. Songs immediately sink their meat hooks into you and stay there for a while. This is the kind of gorefest that is meant to be savored, even if you’d rather look away. Broken Hope have, after all this time, crafted their sharpest statement of intent, and it’s deadly, seriously, great.” – New Noise Magazine

“Taking inspiration from the John Carpenter classic, Mutilated and Assimilated is not only the albums brilliant title track but a representation of the band themselves. Having once more mutilated songs from their original fleshing out to what we will now here on the album the band have crafted some of the heaviest and catchiest Death Metal you’ll hear this year.” – The Metalist

“While the jagged guitars and pummeling rhythms are as gentle as bandsaws, I was most impressed by Damian Leski’s venomous vocals. The man sounds like he’s getting in his regular 64 ounces of Drano on ‘The Bunker’ and ‘Russian Sleep Experiment.’ Mutilated and Assimilated, a reminder that it’s Wagner and Company’s bloody barbecue… and it still tastes good.” – GhostCult Magazine

“In terms of Death Metal albums in 2017, Broken Hope’s Mutilated And Assimilated earns them top honours. Without further upheaval, CrypticRock gives this album 4.5 out of 5 stars.” – CrypticRock.com

“Sure, Mutilated and Assimilated honors Broken Hope’s legacy and finds strength in the past-but it does so without dwelling in the afterbirth. The result is an inspired death metal record that feels like a lethal new mutation; like the creature from The Thing adapting to claim its next victim.” – DECIBEL MAGAZINE
