The official lyric video for the song “Fear Of The Living Dead” from veteran German metallers GRAVE DIGGER can be seen below.
The track is taken from the band’s new album, “The Living Dead”, which will be released on September 14 via Napalm Records.
Vocalist Chris Boltendahl states about the song: “Here it is: the new GRAVE DIGGER lyric video. Normally, we don’t like lyric videos so much, but this one reproduces the atmosphere of the song very well and it’s scary, weird and tough. The song is the first track we have written for the new album and this song contains all trademarks of GRAVE DIGGER — and much more: it’s fast, epic and sounds fresh as well. Enjoy people and watch out for the living dead!”

“The Living Dead” track listing:
01. Fear Of The Living Dead
02. Blade Of The Immortal
03. When Death Passes By
04. Shadow Of The Warrior
05. The Power Of Metal
06. Hymn Of The Damned
07. What War Left Behind
08. Fist In Your Face
09. Insane Pain
10. Zombie Dance
11. Glory Or Grave (bonus track)
A headlining tour, dubbed “Tour Of The Living Dead”, will launch in Hannover, Germany on January 11, 2019 and finish in Tel Aviv, Israel on February 9, 2019. Support on the trek will come from BURNING WITCHES.
GRAVE DIGGER‘s last album, “Healed By Metal”, was released in January 2017 via Napalm Records.
Boltendahl spoke to Get Ready To Rock! about what inspires him to write new music. “I would say that we are inspired by our own creativity,” he said. “As you well know, we have been playing this style of music for many years now and every single member of this band is a much-accomplished musician, so, at the end, what we do is simply play the type of music that we love — the music we grew up listening to. We are lucky to have acquired our own style over the years and that, I believe, is the most important thing to have. When people say to me, ‘Oh, you sound like this or that band,’ my response to them is, ‘Well, we sound like GRAVE DIGGER. Thank you very much.’ [Laughs]”
Chris also talked about how the fact that most of GRAVE DIGGER‘s current lineup has been intact for almost a decade affects the band’s songwriting process. He said: “The core members have been playing together for more than twenty years and that certainly makes things easier when bringing new music to life, but, at the end of the day, it all boils down to good quality control, you know? I have to really feel that a certain song deserves to be released under the GRAVE DIGGER moniker — if not, then we simply discard it. We create many riffs when working on a new album but not all of them are good enough to make it to a GRAVE DIGGERalbum. The quality level in the decision-making process is very high indeed. Because our music is pretty guitar-oriented, we place much focus on the quality of the riffs we choose to utilize and so the decision-making process is very tough indeed.”

GRAVE DIGGER is:
Chris Boltendahl – Vocals
Axel Ritt – Guitar
Jens Becker – Bass
Stefan Arnold – Drums
Marcus Kniep – Keyboards

‘ Join The Show ‘ is the new single and video from the amazing Norwegian rockers Violent Gin.

Montreal based, blues-infused rock band The Damn Truth has released the official music video for “Alex,” off of their 2016 released Devilish Folk. Directed by Erica Orofino, “Alex” presents yet another complex layer to the critically acclaimed band’s diverse song writing.
“Some stories, some moments, change you. Change the way you look at the world. Change the way the world looks at you. We wear our scars on the inside. They are invisible, but you feel like everyone can see.
This moment in time changed me to my core and in fact, shaped me to be the person I am today.
ALEX – I promise I will NEVER FORGET” – Lee-la Baum
Over the years, Canada has given us a lot of great bands; Neil Young , Alanis Morrisette, Arcade Fire, Bryan Adams, The Guess Who, BTO, Rush and many more.
Well, now there’s a new name you can add to that list; The Damn Truth.
Singer-guitarist Lee-la Baum has been called the love child of Robert Plant and Janis Joplin; mixing up the best of the classic rock the band loves with the indie energy of their hometown Montreal scene.
The band is here to introduce their new album (their 2nd), Devilish Folk, meet their American fans, and promote the new single, “White Lies”.
But the journey to get here has been a Behind The Music tale of drama, misfortune, and lucky breaks.
For example, you could say there’s nothing more rock n’ roll than your van blowing up in the middle of your biggest national tour to date. Unless of course, you’re The Damn Truth, and you’ve barely escaped with just the clothes on your back while most everything else is up in flames. And, oh yeah, it’s pitch black in the middle of nowhere in the northern Canadian backwoods. And you’ve got your 3-year old son and his babysitter also on board. And, did we mention it’s in the middle of winter – A Canadian winter.
“We had literally just driven out from a garage in the last town where the mechanic told us everything was fine. Thank god this car drove up beside us on the highway – waving their arms frantically – and told us that the van was on fire . We stopped, got as much stuff out as we could, and then literally watched the van blow up in front of us; all our gear – gone.” remembers drummer Dave Traina.
Nothing has ever come easy for The Damn Truth, but for every adversity there has been some unexpected reward. In this case, they quickly scrambled a funding campaign that raised over ten thousand dollars within 24 hours. The experience brought out the best from their fans and the local community and a renewed faith in the power of music. The tour continued. The shows – and their belief in rock n’roll – got stronger.
And now The Damn Truth are set to do it all over again (except for the blowing up part, of course).

A lot of good things have happened since then for the Montreal based quartet such as singer Lee-la Baum turning in a heart-stopping vocal for an Yves St Laurent TV commercial- their new perfume, Mon Paris, that is rolling out worldwide. The vocal (a cover of “Love Is Blindness” by U2) has had such an impact, raking in over 400K views, thousands of comments, emails and orders have come in from around the globe, exposing the band to a wide audience of new “Truth Seekers “.
The Damn Truth have their roots definitely in 60s and 70s rock ,but they are adding to that palette with alt-rock and indie-rock and whatever-else-kind-of rock attitudes and power; basically, what makes the music stronger is all that counts. Consider the pedigree of the alternative and classic rock credentials of Devilish Folk.
Devilish Folk mixed by Grammy-award winner Tchad Blake (Black Keys, Pearl Jam, Arctic Monkeys, and others). All this power was brought to the forefront via the mastering of John Davis, responsible for the recent Led Zeppelin re-issues in addition to work with U2, Lana del Ray, Stone Roses, Florence & The Machine, and others.
The Damn Truth have always been a self-contained unit; producing their own records, videos, and hanging out old-school after a show; meeting the fans one by one.
“We’ve had to work hard every step of the way,” says lead guitarist Tom Shemer. “But that’s ok. People know it’s real when they come to the shows”.
Part of that ethos is the family vibe amongst the band; Tom and Lee-la travel with their 3-year old son “there has never been a choice in the matter. Rock n’ roll has always been our lives and his too. He’s been on tour since he was 2 months old. “ says Lee-la
The Damn Truth are Lee-la Baum (vocals/guitar), Tom Shemer (guitars), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums). There are echoes of Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Gretta Van Fleet, and Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes, all of it uniquely channelled through Lee-la’s powerful vocals; creating an emotional rock that’s both distinguished them and made them something of a musical anomaly.
“Jimi Hendrix taught me everything I needed to know about that rock’n’roll attitude,” says Lee-la, “and he was my first real rockstar crush!”
The world is evolving , rock n’ roll and social norms are changing.
Women are taking charge and Lee-la Baum and The Damn Truth are here to break those sexist stigmas every step of the way.

One of the world’s biggest festivals, Roskilde Festival, has announced a new set of artists to perform this summer in Denmark. Among many young and promising acts, with only one single behind, the Norwegian newcomer MARATON rocketed its way to the festival stages, and will have the pleasure to perform at Roskilde’s ‘Rising stage’ on July 3. This will be Maraton’s live debut outside of Norway, and the band’s vocalist, Fredrik Bergersen Klemp, shared his excitement: “Shit! Are we really playing at Roskilde this year? This is a little boy`s dream coming true. Since the first time I heard about Roskilde, I was always fascinated of how cool that festival was. I always dreamt about going there. In 2013, my friends and I decided to go. It was the frigging best week of my life! I sat in the grass and dreamt about one time playing on any of the stages. Now the time has finally come🤘 Like in 2013, Roskilde. We’re coming for you! See you at Rising stage, July 3!”

MARATON is a new and intense act from Norway, mixing the realms of pop, rock, metal and prog – unbound by the iron chains of the progressive music genre. Their music presents an interesting, wonderful mix, surprisingly refreshing and catchy, and at the same time timeless – something to be enjoyed and absorbed through more than one listen. The band creates a style of music which combines the rhythmic heaviness from bands such as Mars Volta and Meshugga with the pop aesthetics of Muse. Check out their first single ‘Blood Music’!

RYAN ROXIE (Alice Cooper guitarist) has announced the release of his new solo album ‘Imagine Your Reality‘ on May 25th, 2018 via Cargo Records UK. Vocalist/guitarist & songwriter, RYAN ROXIE, is best known as ALICE COOPER’S long-time lead guitarist and collaborator. He has also worked with Slash & Gilby Clarke and been a member of Classic Rock Award nominated band, Casablanca. Roxie has had an impressive ride so far!

His forthcoming album, ‘Imagine Your Reality’ is his first official ‘solo‘ release and sees him joined by other noteworthy musicians, including a collaboration with Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander on the track California Man.
Says Roxie, “Cheap Trick were a major influence in my musical upbringing. Both Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen have joined us onstage at Alice Cooper shows in the past and have always been the most quintessential rock stars. In my opinion Robin Zander’s voice IS the definition of Rock ‘n’ Roll, so having him guest vocal on California Man definitely ticks a box off my ‘greatest moments in rock ‘n roll’ list.”
‘Imagine Your Reality’ continues Roxie’s legacy of creating infectiously melodic songs and straight ahead no nonsense rock riffs, and this time with more guitar than ever before! Ten tracks, all underlined by ten gleaming guitar solos. From the punk rock undertones of ‘Never Mind Me’ to the un-sugarcoated tale of life in La La Land (To Live and Die in LA) to the superb Beatle-y/Oasis nod, ‘Look Me In The Eye’ – it’s a uplifting big rock sound. Robin Zander transforms ‘California Man’ into the ultimate vintage-vibed, top down, drive in the sunshine, rock n’ roll anthem.
