DEICIDE Reportedly Cancels European Tour

According to the organizers of Germany’s Party.San Open Air festival, which is scheduled to take place August 9-12 in Bad Berka, Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE have canceled their previously announced summer European tour “for reasons which are beyond of our control.” The organizers add, “We are very sorry about this decision and need to go on without the band. Polish kings of satanic death metal BEHEMOTH will headline on Saturday, August 11th. We thank Nergal and crew for the great help and the quick conversions of [their] schedules. BEHEMOTH are the ineffable kings of satanic death metal and they will without doubt rule the festival. We hope you are happy as we are about this unexpected booking!“

DEICIDE recently completed the North American headlining “March Of Death 2012” trek, with support from JUNGLE ROT, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and LECHEROUS NOCTURNE.

DEICIDE‘s latest album, “To Hell With God“, sold 2,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD was issued on February 15, 2011 via Century Media Records. It was produced by Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CHIMAIRA) at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.

BEHEMOTH’s Nergal Checks In From The Road

BEHEMOTH recently completed a series of shows and festivals throughout Europe, featuring some of the band’s most intense stage production to date.

Frontman Nergal adds the following: “We are back home recharging our batteries before striking back at Hellfest and Graspop! Things are intense and it feels great to be raging across Europe with renewed show and refreshed set list! Unfortunately, we were kind of cursed when it came to weather forecasts on this European trek. One show in Austria had to be cancelled due to a massive thunderstorm. Nevertheless, we kept on conquering.”

BEHEMOTH – Nergal Issues New Health Update

In an exclusive interview with Gazeta.pl, Nergal, leader of BEHEMOTH says that he is taking his illness at face value.

Gazeta Wyborcza: Are you that strong or pretend to be?

Nergal:

“Let’s just say that the shit inflicted a very strong mother-fucker (laughs). Most serious illnesses like mine are healed by positive thinking. I don’t rely on faith, but on strong belief in myself. I take my sickness at face value thanks to which I understand and learn more.
People ask themselves, what’s next? What’s the goal or reference? When they realize that it is the vermin in the ground, suddenly they’re overcome with emptiness. I deal with this since the beginning. I don’t care about the ideologies guaranteeing salvation and happiness after death. I live according to my own aspirations and needs. You can call it self-righteousness, I feel I am fair to myself and people around me. I try not to hurt anybody.”

The entire interview will be published in Friday’s edition of Polish national newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.

A previous update from Nergal reads:

“Dear All,

I’d like to announce that Behemoth won’t be able to tour for the forseeable future. I don’t wanna bore you with details here, but I’m sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment.
It’s gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the Behemoth shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October and our American tour in November.
I know how much it sucks but health comes first. I can assure all of you that when we return, I’ll be stronger than death, and we’ll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow.
I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I’ve got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can’t ask for more but a little patience now.
The fact that we won’t be touring for the next few months doesn’t mean we’ll hibernate. Behemoth will be active on several other levels. In upcoming days you can expect the premiere of our newest video, ‘Alas, Lord Is Upon Me’ which is by far the sickest fuckin’ thing we’ve ever done!
Evangelia Heretika DVD is coming out as scheduled in November this year. Also, check out our Webstore that opens for international markets in upcoming weeks. This is it for now. Stay tuned!”
