As I Lay Dying will release their new album, Awakened, on September 25th via Metal Blade.
For the album, the band – Nick Hipa (guitar), Tim Lambesis (vocals), Jordan Mancino (drums), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Josh Gilbert (bass) – teamed with renowned rock producer Bill Stevenson, who’s also the drummer for DESCENDENTS (and has played with BLACK FLAG); and mixer Colin Richardson at the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO.

MALEFICE Confirmed For UK’s Bloodstock Open Air 2012
Britain’s own MALEFICE are confirmed for the New Blood Stage at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air 2012, which is scheduled for August 10th-12th at Catton Hall in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire, England.

Progressive metal bashers SYMPHONY X have added show in San Jose, Costa Rica to their September schedule. It will take place on September 6th at the Pepper Club. Like the previously announced Mexico City show on September 8th, it will feature KAMELOT as support.

D1STRAUGHT To Begin Recording New Album In August
Chilean thrash metallers D1STRAUGHT have announced that they will enter the studio in August to record their debut album entitled Money Equal Death.
D1straught‘s Lalo Guzman commented: “It’s really cool to be able to work with people like Johnny Verdugo and Ricardo Martinez, they know what they are doing, and of course be able to work with Mariano Pavez; all the work he has done in the past with CRIMINAL and DRACMA, we are sure we are going to get our own sound, it will be massive and aggressive.”

FIREWIND Cancel Appearance At Summer Breeze
Organizers of Germany’s Summer Breeze festival have released the following update:
“Unfortunately we have to inform you that FIREWIND have cancelled their appearance at Summer Breeze 2012, our apologies to all those who were looking forward to seeing them. We will not rest until we can book the band again for Summer Breeze in the years to come.”
The 15th installment of Summer Breeze 2012 will take place from August 16th to 18th at its usual location in Dinkelsbühl.

Produced by Gus G., Few Against Many, was recorded with long time band mates vocalist Apollo Papathanasio, Bob Katsionis (keyboards/guitar) and bassist Petros Christo at Valve Studio in Greece as well as The Sweetspot Studios in Sweden and sees the band expand on their signature melodic sound with some of their most aggressive songs to date.
Mixed by Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (TRIVIUM, ALL THAT REMAINS, DEATH ANGEL) in Orlando, Florida. Few Against Many also marks the recording debut of new Firewind drummer Johan Nunez (NIGHTRAGE).
