Sonic Syndicate Guitarist Roger Sjunnesson Leaves The Band
Still in the topic of departures, guitarist Roger Sjunnesson is no longer a member of Swedish metallers Sonic Syndicate. He was one of the founders of the band and the main composer.
His official and lengthy statement reads as follows: “Dear Sonic fans and fellow Musicians, I’m no longer a member of the band I founded with my brother Richard ten years ago. A couple of weeks ago Sonic Syndicate distributed a press release stating “Last year we parted ways with two band members”, and I think this ambiguity requires some clarification. The first member they are alluding is of course Richard who left Sonic Syndicate in October 2010, and the second is – as some of you already figured out – me. However it should be noted I was in the band well into this year and that’s it. I will not go into any details. All I can say is that I never wanted this split to happen, and I did my very best to find an equitable solution. I have been in this band since day 1, written many great songs on all Sonic’s albums that I am proud of, toured the world and met fans and every band I grew up listening to. This is nothing you give up easily and it feels strange to not be a part of this band anymore. But this is the last word and it’s time to move forward.”

ORPHANED LAND Guitarist Leaves The Band
Guitarist Matti Svatizky has parted ways with Middle East-based metallers ORPHANED LAND. His statement reads as follows:
“To all of Orphaned Land‘s fans, from this moment on I will no longer be a part of the band. We had great years together and I think that our achievements were beyond only the musical grounds. However, it is time for me to move on with my life. There are issues both on the personal and the professional levels that made me come to this decision, which has not been an easy one, and which I’m whole with and sure that will bring many positive things in the future.

Leaves’ Eyes To Tour Asia With Atrocity
Leaves’ Eyes and Atrocity have announced that they will be heading east in July for their first ever shows in China and Taiwan.
Liv Kristine commented: “Thank you so much Nike for inviting us, giving us this great opportunity to share unforgettable memories with our fans and friends in the Asian Metal scene! Needless to say, we are very excited to explore new territories and meet our fans in China and Taiwan for the very first time!”
Alex Krull added: “We are very happy that we finally make it over to China and Taiwan to play for our fans! A long dream came true! We wanted to come over and play in China and Taiwan for a long time and I’m pretty sure this will be very special for everybody, fans and musicians! See you at the shows!”
