ROB ZOMBIE’S JOHN 5 – New Lynyrd Skynyrd Work On The Way – 2011-07-19

JOHN 5 will again be working with legends Lynyrd Skynyrd for their forthcoming new album. He’s previously worked with the band writing Skynyrd’s  2009 album “God and Guns”.

Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington stated:

“He’s probably one of the best guitar players I’ve ever played with, and I’ve played with a lot of great ones. He just lives with a guitar on him, and he knows that neck like nobody I’ve ever seen.”

Artisan News Service recently spoke with JOHN 5 about the new project:

ROB ZOMBIE – “I wish Ozzy nothing but the best. End of story”.

Rob Zombie says that he has buried the hatchet with Ozzy Osbourne after recently airing his feelings about two of his more recent band members — bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson and drummer Tommy Clufetos — being hired away by Ozzy Osbourne for Ozzy‘s touring band. Nicholson was hired by Ozzy in 2006 while Clufetos left just months ago, leaving Zombie in desperate need of a drummer.

In a posting on his MySpace page, Zombie writes, “I am very happy to put this Zombie-vs.- Ozzy crap to rest.

“I just got off the phone with Ozzy and all is good with us. I have known Ozzy and Sharon for many years and have never had any problems with them. In fact, they have always been very cool and easy to deal with. So, needless to say, I found this whole situation very strange and a real bummer. This whole thing was really always between my band and a certain ex-drummer, not between me and Ozzy. I wish Ozzy nothing but the best. End of story.”

In a recent interview with the Artisan News Service (see video below), Zombie stated about his musicians being hired away by Ozzy, “I think there’s ways to do things and I think there’s ways to not do things and I think the way they’ve chosen to do things is not how I would do things; I think it’s kind of rude.”

Zombie added, “I mean, if my guys that I have wanna go play with other people, that’s fine; I don’t own them. But I think there’s ways to do things in a respectful way and there’s ways to just be shitty, and I feel that the way things have gone down lately has been pretty shitty . . . I’m just happy because every time I’ve lost somebody, I’ve gotten somebody ten times better, so I’m thankful for that. So if somebody’s band wants to be made up of my cast-offs, enjoy.”

3 INCHES OF BLOOD Post New Video Stills From The “Silent Killer” Video Shoot

New Guitar Rig and Jam Video Footage Now Online

The biggest defenders of traditional heavy metal, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, are currently preparing for the next big North American touring onslaught, which kicked off with a massive run across Canada on April 28th with Goatwhore. This leads them directly into the much anticipated, big summer festival Rockstar Mayhem Tour performing alongside such major acts as Lamb of God, Rob Zombie and Hatebreed. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/3iob now to view their complete touring itinerary. The band will also be performing a series of off-dates with Lamb of God and Hatebreed.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD have also teamed back up with acclaimed director Rick Podd (The Watcher, Hellraiser), who previously shot their “Battles and Brotherhood” video, to shoot a new clip for the track “Silent Killer.” The group’s latest album, Here Waits Thy Doom, is going to be reissued as a Mayhem Tour edition with four exclusive new tracks along with a bonus DVD featuring their video for “Battles and Brotherhood,” their performance on Fuel TV and more. Look for this new edition everywhere on June 29th. Click on the link below now to view stills from the “Silent Killer” video shoot. Look for it to make its online debut next month sometime.

Shane Clark (guitars) also just spoke in-depth about his guitar setup and jams out a few of the band’s most memorable riffs, so click on the following link to check it out now.

Clark further comments on the theme of the new video: “Hey all. It’s that exciting time again when we’re making another video. Fuck Yeah! This time around it’s for our song ‘Silent Killer.’ It’s going to be a straight up East Van production once again directed by our friend Rick Podd who directed our barbaric ‘Battles and Brotherhood’ video. This time, it’s going to be about us getting killed by an assassin methodically throughout one fine Vancouver evening. I personally am excited because we have one of the industry’s finest FX artists around helping us add a nice element of gore and guts which will get your blood boiling. Not to mention babes doin’ the killin.”
